For thousands of years, many cultures in the Northern Hemisphere worldwide have celebrated the day of the sun reaching its northernmost position in the sky. These celebrations involve planting, feasting, dancing, and singing.
Wherever you are, one common denominator is ritual, creativity, and celebration around food.
The Solstice Creative Renewal Event was held at Bull Valley Country Club, June 21st, 2021. The custom event for fifteen women was led by Integrative Wellness Consultant JoAnne Pavin and curated by Erin McElroy. The evening included an hour of movement, yoga, and creative journaling and painting, followed by a celebratory meal. Chef Zak of Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen provided a private culinary experience with a seasonal vegetarian menu, including homegrown produce. The healthy local fare was accompanied by no other than herbal infused libations.
The festivities concluded with a bonfire under a moonlit sky where auspicious intentions were set forth for health, love, and happiness through offerings of the rare and powerful agarwood.
